Celebrate the holiday with a delicious day of outdoor cooking, hands-on learning, and forest fun! In this special one-day camp, young chefs will explore the magic of cooking in nature while learning about the history and cultural traditions behind the dishes we make. Using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, we’ll prepare recipes inspired by the land and the food heritage of the Pacific Northwest. On the menu:
Three Sisters Salad – A colorful, hearty mix of corn, beans, and squash, honoring a traditional Indigenous recipe
Campfire Bread – Kneaded, shaped, and baked by the kids over open flames
Roasted Salmon – Cooked on cedar planks over the fire (or roasted veggie skewers for our vegetarian friends)
Between cooking sessions, campers will enjoy forest play, active games, and nature crafts. They’ll learn outdoor kitchen safety, teamwork, and the joy of sharing food made with their own hands.
