Join GBC’s Veteran Resource Group for our Second Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon honoring those who have served, and those who continue to serve, in our Armed Forces. This special event will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the GBC Event Center.
Enjoy a complimentary meal as we come together in gratitude and remembrance. The program will begin with the Presentation of Colors by the Delaware Military Academy Color Guard, followed by stirring performances from the GBC Jazz Band, including the National Anthem.
We are honored to welcome two distinguished veteran speakers:
- Colonel Michael Murphy, Delaware National Guard – A decorated leader whose 30+ years of service include deployments during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, as well as senior command roles within the Delaware National Guard.
- Captain J. Paul Doherty, Delaware State Police – A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and current Director of the Delaware Information and Analysis Center, bringing expertise in intelligence and homeland security.
President Dr. Colleen Perry Keith will offer a warm welcome and introduce attending dignitaries, underscoring GBC’s ongoing commitment to the military community.
This event is free and open to all GBC students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members. RSVPs are requested by November 7.

About the Veteran Resource Group (VRG)
Established in 2017, the VRG supports Active-Duty personnel, Veterans, service members, and their families through monthly meetings, resource sharing, and guest speakers on topics relevant to the military community. Membership is open to all Veterans, service members, family members, and students interested in military service.
