a ceramics presentation and food pairing at Lichen

For this body of work, Vũ drew inspiration from ancient shipwrecks in the South China Sea and the journeys of people within the Vietnamese diaspora. Each stoneware vessel references work by Viet artisans of the Chu Dau and Bat Trang regions. Their intention is for each ceramic piece to become a conduit of conversation, echoing stories of resilience and adaptation, along with a sense of connection to ancestral journeys and flavors. In this ceramic and culinary collaboration with Annie, they aim to honor the indomitable spirit of past voyagers by bridging art and sustenance, forging connections with ancestral legacies that transcend time and distance.
This event is one in a series of interdisciplinary projects by Annie & collaborators, engaging in food as a 'pairing' to other forms of work.
Each ticket is for a seated 6-course meal, wine and non-alcoholic beverages by our friends Starr Wines and Unified Ferments included with each ticket.
