Courtney Puckett
In her childhood, Courtney Puckett moved around often and lived in various parts of New Jersey and then in North Carolina. The diversity in these different places has influenced her world view and her experiences which in turn, are part of the reason her music is eclectic and unique. She was a creative person from the get go who competitively danced, indulged in visual art, and studied guitar beginning at age 12 as well as the clarinet, tuba, and mellophone. As someone who loved to express herself creatively, music is what always was consistent for her. Life has thrown its hardships and its beauty in Courtney’s direction and these moments have been translated into her music. Her first solo album she released in 2022 entitled “out of the grey” delves into a variety of topics that Courtney allows the listener to interpret. The songs are a mix of bossa nova, folk, RnB, and dreamy jazz with airy vocals with great control. Courtney has studied under great guitarists and vocalists such as Jeremy Vess and Daniel Seriff. She is part of indie jazz band Paper Wasps, a back up vocalist for Big Break, she also has appeared on other works as a studio vocalist, she is a producer, and a booking agent. Her drive and passion for music continues to push her to grow in the industry.
