Join us for a special series of evening prayer services this October as we gather for Vespers for Peace.Rooted in the ancient Christian tradition of vespers, these candlelit services offer a time of music, scripture, and prayer centered on the theme of peace—peace in our community, peace in the world, and peace in our hearts.
These services are inspired by the Friedensgebete (“Prayers for Peace”) that helped spark hope and change in Berlin during the final years of the Cold War. Instead of seeking to bring down a physical wall, we now pray for God to bring down the walls of division in our nation and in our lives.
🕯️ October 1 – Evening prayer with a short sermon from the Rev. Ollie Bergh
🕯️ October 8 & 15 – Contemplative vespers with silence, scripture, and simple hymns.
🕯️ October 22 – For the Healing of the Nations from Holden Prayer Around the Cross: a moving service of prayer for all the nations of the world
All are welcome—whatever your faith background. Come, rest, and pray with us for peace.
