This hands-on workshop teaches participants safe and efficient techniques for rappelling, ascending, and transitioning on rope systems. Ideal for beginners and intermediate climbers wanting to build confidence in vertical environments.
Training includes demonstrations, guided practice, and realistic scenario exercises led by WildernessBD Trainers.
🎯 Workshop Objectives
Participants will learn to:
-Set up safe rappel systems
-Use friction devices correctly and safely
-Control speed and manage backups during descent
-Perform multiple ascending methods (mechanical ascenders, prusiks, friction hitches)
-Complete changeovers (switching between ascent and descent)
-Pass knots, obstacles, and intermediate anchors
-Troubleshoot common problems (rope twist, device loading, etc.)
-Understand safety checks, equipment use, and risk assessment
