Bradley Ertaskiran est ravie de présenter Distilling Resistance, une présentation solo de l’artiste américano‑canadienne Suzy Lake, sa première grande exposition personnelle à Montréal depuis plusieurs décennies. Depuis plus de cinquante ans, Lake utilise son appareil photo et son propre corps pour explorer l’identité, le genre et le vieillissement, pionnière du genre de l’autoportrait tout en mettant en scène les dynamiques de pouvoir de son époque.→ VERNISSAGE

Nous avons le plaisir de présenter une conversation entre Suzy Lake et Georgiana Uhlyarik, conservatrice Fredrik S. Eaton de l’art canadien au Musée des beaux-arts de l’Ontario, dans le cadre de l'exposition solo de Lake en cours à la galerie jusqu'au 1er novembre 2025. L'évènement est gratuit et ouvert à tous et à toutes. La conversation se déroulera en anglais.

Bradley Ertaskiran is thrilled to present Distilling Resistance, a solo presentation by American-Canadian artist Suzy Lake, her first major solo show in Montreal in decades. For over fifty years, Lake has used the camera and her own body to investigate identity, gender, and aging, spearheading the genre of self-portraiture while playing out the power dynamics of her time.
