An exhibition of emotional truth - imperfect, instinctive and deeply alive.
As If It Were Real brings together a series of artworks by Anca Brânzaș in which the figures and scenes seem simultaneously familiar and unexpected. Her expressive pictorial language keeps gesture visible and form intentionally unstable: bodies are distorted, faces take on a mask-like quality, and playful appearances gradually give way to deeper emotional tension.
Humans, animals, and mythological figures inhabit a universe of intimate fables, suggested rather than narrated. Color acts as an emotional force, shifting between tenderness and threat, delicacy and intensity. Painting becomes an intuitive process, guided by inner necessity rather than rational structure.
In Anca Brânzaș's works, the body is simultaneously a space of vulnerability and resistance. The exhibition refuses comfort or resolution, inviting the viewer into a suspended state, where game turns into confrontation and fantasy becomes a tool for finding deeply human anxieties.
