Our vernal ponds have seen some amazing plants come up the past few months - help us add more exciting native species!About this Event
Event Overview:
The vernal ponds were dug in fall of 2023, and since then, we've seen some really great plants take root! Help us add more plants to increase biodiversity and attract even more species to the area.
To be Planted:
- Blue cardinal flower
- Fox sedge
- Soft rush
- Swamp milkweed
- Red osier dogwood
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, October 4th
- Time: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Location: Meet at Parking Lot P on McMaster campus at 1:00pm, and staff will guide youto the restoration site.
Bring/Wear:
- Comfortable, closed-toe, durable shoes (mud proof if you have any)
- Long pants and long socks
- Ensure you wear clothing and shoes that you will not mind getting dirty
- Water bottles
- Sunscreen/Hat/Sunglasses
- Bug spray
