About this Event
Wines made from Albariño have been the most popular style of wine on the Vermilion wine list. And since International Albariño Day is 08/01, we thought it would be a great time to taste some Albariños together!
The grape is native to Spain, and known to make wines that are bright, citrusy, and mineral. Ultimately, these are the perfect wines for hot summer days in the DC area! Albariño has taken off as a common grape in wine regions across the entire country, and we are love to see how the different terroirs of the USA affect this perfect summer grape!
Join us for a casual seated wine class where we will talk about what may affect the flavor of Albariño while tasting five domestic Albariños beside one from it's native region at Vermilion.
Included with your ticket:
- Seated wine class with certified sommelier and Neighborhood Restaurant Group Wine Director, Erin Dudley CSW
- Tasting of six fine Albariño wines
- Small serving of artisanal cheese and accoutrement to accompany your tasting
