Verge Theater Presents: Fuddy Meers

Underneath the comedic exterior, a family drama is at the heart of Fuddy Meers by David Lindsay-Abaire. Fuddy Meers brings audiences along on the twisting and wild journey of Claire, a woman suffering from psychogenic amnesia. Reminiscent to Groundhog Day and Fifty First Dates, Claire forgets everything the moment she falls asleep. Each morning, her dutiful husband Richard informs Claire of who she is, where she is, and who her family is. One particular morning after Richard finishes his morning routine and leaves Claire to get her bearings, a mysterious man pops out from behind her bed to save her. From there, the day is off to a raucous start as Claire tries to piece together her life. Along the way she meets her mother whose speech has been affected by a stroke, a childish woman whose best friend is a foul-mouthed sock puppet, a claustrophobic cop, and her fiery daughter with a penchant for marijuana.
