The Catamount Institute is excited to announce and open up registration for this year’s Venetucci Pumpkin Giveaway. This is an exciting opportunity for your Kindergarten students to learn about pumpkin growth and pick the perfect pumpkin! Registration will close September 10, 2025.
The late, great Nick “The Pumpkin Man” & his wife Bambi Venetucci began giving pumpkins away to local youth in the 1960s. Now seven decades later, Catamount Institute ensures this tradition stays alive.
Each October, our staff and volunteers ensure over 1000 kindergarten students have the same chance their parents and grandparents had to experience Nick and Bambi’s legacy at the farm, receiving a free pumpkin while learning the science of how plants grow – all at no cost to their schools and families.
What you need to know:
- All bookings are first-come, first-serve
- Maximum of 80 Kindergartens per time slot (unless aproved)
- One chaperone per 10 students
- One pumpkin per student
- Keep checking the calendar. Availability may change and update until September 10th!
- After September 10th rescheduling can NOT be accommodated
- Late field trip arrival will not modify the end time listed
- Rosters must be submitted along side waivers to ensure they are complete
- Students without waivers will not be able to participate
This activity is ADA accessible during good weather and dry conditions! Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle; there are porta-potties but no potable water.
