About this Event
Gaden for the West is very excited to announce on April 15th, 2023 Venerable Zasep Tulku Rinpoche will offer the Empowerment of Kalachakra Sahaja Deva of innate bliss.
The Empowerment of Kalachakra is especially effective for protection during this year of water rabbit, increasing Dharma realizations and creating positive energy in this time of fear and stress.
Of the hundreds of Buddhist tantras, Kalachakra is one of the most important deity yoga practices.
According to tradition and sacred history, on the fifteen day of the third month, a year after his enlightenment, Sakyamuni Buddha gave teachings on Prajanaparamita, (the perfection of wisdom sutra,) at Vultures Peak Mountain in Magadha. Simultaneously he appeared at Dhanyakataka in south India as the Kalachakra deity, setting forth the Kalachakra tantra. The Tantra was expounded at the request of King Suchandra, an emanation of Vajrapani, who thereupon complied the tantra in its long form said to be twelve thousand stanzas. King Suchandra was from Shambala Pure Land.
Kalachakra deity is an emanation of Buddha Sakyamuni. He is the opponent of the age of degeneration, Kali Yuga. Kalachakra revolves around the concept of time (kala) and cycle or wheels. Kalachakra, in Tibetan Dhukor, means wheel of time, wheel of Samsara turning, wheel of sharp weapons turning, wheel of wars turning and wheel of suffering turning. At this time, it is important to turn the wheel of holy Dharma. It is time to practice Kalachakra Tantra.
Kalachakra practice is considered an auspicious and advanced high tantric practice. It is a most powerful deity yoga in order to remove all aspects of obstacles to Dharma practice in this time of degeneration. In the future when Buddha Dharma has almost degenerated on the earth, the emanations of Kalachakra deity, Rigden Kings and their armies, will subdue démons and evil barbarian forces, make them take vows and follow the Dharma law. Then the golden age of Dharma will shine again and Dharma will be preserved.
Gelug and Jonang schools of Tibetan Buddhism practice Kalachakra Tantra. In the past the Dalai Lamas and Panchen Lamas, Kalkha Jetsun Dampa Rinpoche and high lamas of all four sects of Buddhism such as Kalu Rinpoche of Shangpa Kagyu and Chojed Trichen Rinpoche of Sakyapa tradition have given empowerments of Kalachakra in Tibet, Mongolia, China, India, United State and Canada.
Venerable Zasep Tulku Rinpoche received this empowerment from his Guru His Holiness Khalkha Jetsun Dharma Rinpoche, the Spiritual head of Mongolian Tibetan Buddhism.
