About this Event
Velvet Collar’s Speed Friending is a curated space designed to spark new friendships, play-ships, partnerships, and community.
So what does Speed Friending actually look like? When you arrive, you’ll have time to mingle, grab food or drinks, and pick up your Velvet notebook and pen. Once the rounds begin, you’ll spend 5 minutes chatting with an assigned partner before rotating to the next person.
Not sure what to talk about? We’ve got you covered. Velvet conversation prompts are available if you want them—ranging from more platonic and reflective (Depth) to romantic, flirty, or playful (Ember). You’re also welcome to skip the prompts entirely and let the conversation flow wherever it wants to go.
After you’ve met everyone, the structured portion of the night wraps up. If you’ve made connections you’d like to explore further, stick around and hang out—or share contact information at your own comfort level using a page from your notebook.

Q: Help! I'm scared of new people!
A: That's okay! Our system lets introverts settle and extroverts come to you.
Q: How naughty IS this, exactly?
A: This is a vanilla event. Each round, you will choose a topic. If you're looking for just friends, pick a card from for platonic connections deck (called the Depths). Looking for romance/play? The Ember card deck is for you!
Q: How do I tell someone I'm interested?
A: Fill out your place cards to provide potential friends/matches with any contact info you are comfortable sharing. At the end of each round, you can choose to share or not.
Q: Where is this, again?
A: Our friends at the Radclyffe's are our hosts. Be sure to support them with drink and food purchases :)
