Vehicular Movement Halted on Gund Kilam RoadBhat Ashraf
Kilam, Kulgam, Dec 03: Authorities have temporarily suspended vehicular movement on the Gund Kilam road to carry out urgent repair and restoration work, officials said on Wednesday.
An official said that the RBM (River Bed Material) of the approach road to the Gund Kilam Bridge has been eroded, rendering the stretch unsafe for traffic movement. “Due to the erosion, the road poses a safety risk, and therefore, vehicular movement has been halted as a precautionary measure,” the official said.
Commuters and drivers have been advised to take alternate routes until the repair and restoration work is completed. “Necessary steps are being taken to restore the road at the earliest. Meanwhile, people are requested to cooperate and use alternate routes,” the official added.
Restoration work is currently underway.
