Our next Vegan Diners event will be at Habesha Eritrean Restaurant in Hillsborough. Habesha used to be on Wright's Road (for those who may have visited before!) but the owner has now relocated to a residential address in Hillsborough. Menu Options:
Option #1 - Choice of two stews ($22)
Choose two from the following stews:
o Misir wot: a spicy red lentil stew cooked with onions, garlic, and berbere spice blend. Rich, flavourful, and a vegan favourite.
o Shiro: a creamy, thick stew made from powdered chickpeas or broad beans, simmered with onions, garlic and berbere.
o Gomen: collard greens sauteed with onions, garlic and mild peppers. Sometimes includes ginger for extra warmth.
o Kik alicha: yellow split pea stew cooked with turmeric, onions, and garlic. Mild in flavour and not spicy.
o Dinich alicha: potato stew seasoned with turmeric and onions.
• Served with injera - a soft, spongy sourdough flatbread made from teff flour.
Option #2- Vegan Assorted Platter ($22)
Beyayanetu (literally a "bit of everything") - a platter of assorted vegan stews and vegetables (see above for stews).

Optional:
• Humbasha bread - soft, lightly sweet bread with a hint of cardamom, goes well with tea or coffee - ($5 a piece)
