On Thursday 8th May 2025, towns up and down the country will be commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day.Join us at 10am outside Legion house, Church Lane, for a short Proclamation ceremony that we are hosting in partnership with the Blandford & District Branch of the Royal British Legion.
From 9.40am the piper, Lyndon Wall, will be playing in the Market Place before processing up to Legion House for the start of the event.
The event will be opened the Mayor and will feature the Town Crier reading the VE Day Proclamation and the raising of the VE Day flag.
Following the ceremony refreshments will be served in the Overlord Room of Legion House.
