About this Event
Anyone in a management or leadership position in the Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector across Norfolk is warmly invited to join our VCSE Leadership Network (previously VCSE Leaders' Voice Network) delivered by the Empowering Communities Partnership.
What is the VCSE Leadership Network?
This Network supports those in leadership roles within Norfolk’s VCSE sector by creating a space for relationships to develop and experiences to be shared, providing peer support which informs and strengthens collective influencing.
Last summer the Empowering Communities Partnership collected feedback from sector colleagues on the Network, its value, aims and purpose. Common themes that emerged were listening and discussing, influencing, and connecting with other VCSEs, statutory colleagues and other stakeholders.
What does this session involve?
Empowering Communities is working with the Economic Development Team at Norfolk County Council, to bring you a session to help shape the new Norfolk Economic Strategy.
The key economic priorities for Norfolk have been identified as:
- Local business
- People & Skills
- Infrastructure
- Placemaking & community
Underpinning and cross-cutting these are 3 key themes:
- Decarbonisation & sustainability
- Supporting rural & coastal communities
- Reducing inequalities & supporting inclusive growth
We invite you to join us to discuss these emerging priorities and themes, any gaps you think should be addressed in the Strategy, and what you - as VCSE leaders - would like to see for Norfolk’s economic development.
This is a valuable opportunity for the voluntary, community and social sector to influence a key strategy for Norfolk and to understand how new funding arrangements will work as a result of devolution, with funding opportunities expected to start as early as Autumn 2024 and accelerating in Spring 2025.
We invite you to consider the needs of your organisation as both an employer within the social sector in Norfolk, and an investor in local skills, as well as needs of the communities you work with and for.
This is an opportunity to put forward a strong VCSE voice on the opportunities for inclusive growth and reducing inequalities; investment in geographically isolated communities; and support for local social enterprises.
How will the event run?
The first part of the session (3-4pm) will be available to join online as well as in-person (hybrid), with the following hour (4-5pm) providing a face-to-face opportunity for sharing ideas, connecting and networking.
Please indicate when booking whether you will be joining in-person or online. Do get in touch if you have any questions about this via [email protected]
