VBAC PREGNANCY SUPPORT CIRCLE FREE

Description: VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) support circle provides a safe and understanding environment for women who are considering or planning a vaginal birth after having had a previous cesarean delivery. These groups offer emotional support, information, and resources to help women make informed decisions about their birthing options. VBAC support groups often include discussions on the risks and benefits of VBAC, coping strategies, birth plans, and experiences shared by women who have successfully had a VBAC. These groups can be a valuable source of encouragement and empowerment for women seeking a vaginal birth after cesarean.
About the facilitator
Hi My name is Victoria
I am a mom of three wonderful little kids and currently live in Aylmer, Quebec.
I moved to Canada in 2008. Originally I am from Venezuela, where there is a prevalent culture of caesarean births being the norm and as you can imagine, concepts like physiological birth, doulas, VBAC’s (Vaginal Births after Caesarean) and midwifes are not well understood.
For the birth of my first child, I was unprepared and I lacked the ability to make informed choices, in the end it ended with an emergency C-section. For the birth of my second child, I wanted to seek out a VBAC. At first it was hard to find resources and support, but after hiring a doula, I was able to have the birth experience I wanted.
I was inspired by the work that Doulas do, so I became committed to completing Doula training during my second postpartum period so that I could provide mothers with the same support that made all the difference for me and give back to my community. I believe this path has given me the ability to impact individual families and plant the seeds for a future where our birth culture is not based in fear but empathy, integrity, and transparency. One day I hope to be able to contribute to the improvement of maternal health in Venezuela and establish an NGO that brings much needed midwifery training to communities in Venezuela.
