🎨 March’s Vault Exhibition: Joseph Stokes + Live Performance from Tolerance Manoeuvre 🎶Join us at The Art Bank for March’s Vault Exhibition, featuring the breathtaking stone carving and sculpture of Joseph Stokes, alongside a special live performance from Tolerance Manoeuvre as part of the exhibition launch.
🔹 Joseph Stokes is an internationally exhibiting British artist with a background in figurative and decorative stone carving, sculpture, painting, and printmaking. His work is an ongoing exploration that began 25 years ago in Athens, using found marble from Pendelis Mountain as the foundation for his improvised carving.
🔹 His practice blends Neo-Classical Surrealist Biomorphism, using traditional carving and painting techniques to explore the holistic spirit of growth and movement, while drawing inspiration from Henri Michaux, William S. Burroughs, and David Lynch. Expect evolving, subconscious motifs that morph and reoccur throughout his work.
🔹 As part of this exhibition, Joseph will also present new ink works, some of which explore portraiture.
🎶 Tolerance Manoeuvre
Experience the sonic glory of Tolerance Manoeuvre, a London-based trio blending cello, electric guitar, trumpet, and three voices in a way that defies convention.
Taking the score-based songwriting approach of Mogwai or Sigur Rós, but with jazzier and folkier roots, Tolerance Manoeuvre creates spacious, textured soundscapes with a cinematic, storytelling quality. Their music is both primal and intimate, evoking the spirit of Talk Talk’s 'Spirit of Eden' in its raw, atmospheric beauty.
Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind fusion of art and music—a night of surrealism, sonic landscapes, and creative exploration!
