SARASHI-South Asia Religion Art Science and Humanism Institution and the Foundation of Light (FOL) invites you to join us in celebrating two of the most popular south Asian spring season festivals, Vasant Panchami (Saraswati Puja) and Doljatra (Holi). Both mentioned festivals will be celebrated during “Vasant Rangotsav” (Color of Spring) festivities with the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier and Central New York Community on Saturday, Feb 22, 2025 at the Foundation of Light, 391 Turkey Hill Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.Admission is FREE and OPEN to ALL. Attendees can HOP IN and HOP OUT at any time during the festival.

SCHEDULE:

11:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Worship of Goddess Saraswati
12:00 PM to 12:30 PM – Pushpanjali (Offering of flowers to Goddess) and Hathe Khari (ceremonial initiation of children to a life of learning and knowledge)
12:30 PM to 1:00 PM – Devotional music (kirtan)
1:00 PM to 2:15 PM – Prasad and Bhog Lunch (blessed food from worship). Bhog is a complete meal.
Doljatra (Holi)
2:30 PM to 3:30 PM – Color of Spring music and dance program, recitation, and storytelling, with Classical South Asian Dance and storytelling with Jay Leeming
3:30 PM to 4:30 PM – Interactive Doljatra celebrations with throwing of color powder, music, community dance, and festival sweets.
