Join us Saturday October 22nd from 3-5 p.m. in the Edendale Library parking lot for pre-Halloween fun with the Varrio Vamps Car Club and a DJ set by the Chulita Vinyl Club! The Varrio Vamps are one of Los Angeles’ most prominent all-female car clubs, and will be showing some of their restored and customized classic cars. The Chulita Vinyl Club, founded in 2014, has expanded from Los Angeles to establish chapters in Riverside, San Diego, San Francisco, Austin and San Antonio, made up of women, gender-non-conforming, non-binary and LGBTQ+ people of color who share a belief that El DISCO ES CULTURA.
All ages are welcome to drop by between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. to get in the Halloween spirit with amazing cars and hip records out on the Edendale Library patio! The Varrio Vamps will have Halloween candy for kids who want to Trunk or Treat, while supplies last. 2011 Sunset Blvd. in Echo Park, enter through the parking lot off Alvarado.
This event is produced as part of Something in Common, a new exhibition at the Los Angeles Central Library and city-wide program series about the things that bring us together.
