Join Va Polyamory [VAP] for afternoon tea, snacks, and chatting about books. This book club is a public event hosted at a public library. Even if you are not a member of VAP, you are welcome to attend.
Location: TBD
The book for October is Use Your Words: Opening Language for Open Relationships by Stephanie K. Webb PhD.
-blurb:
"We often lack the words to describe experiences that occur in ethically nonmonogamous relationships. Monogamous experiences have shaped the language that we use to describe situations and feelings in romantic relationships. In Use Your Words Stephanie K. Webb has unveiled an innovative approach for creating a new language in romantic relationships. Her ideas have an impact on our lexical options as she explores ways in which ethically nonmonogamous people can create new language, manipulate existing metaphors, and communicate in a way that is both effective and elicits empathy in their partners."
If you haven't finished the book or don't even want to read it, but you still want to attend the event, you are absolutely welcome. Feel free to bring a snack to share!
Many events hosted by VAP are kid-friendly. However, we cannot promise that the discussions that take place during the book club will be appropriate for all ages.
