2025 is een bijzonder jaar voor de Groningse countryrockband VanderLinde. De groep bestaat 20 jaar en om deze mijlpaal te vieren, spelen de mannen voor het eerst een reeks theatershows en brachten ze het negende studioalbum ‘The Way I’m Wired’ uit.VanderLinde heeft de afgelopen jaren een indrukwekkende reputatie opgebouwd met talloze optredens in binnen- en buitenland, met name in Duitsland. Ze deelden het podium met grootheden als Fish, Jethro Tull en Bobby Kimball (Toto) en schitterden als headliner op diverse festivals.
Dit programma viert 20 jaar tourleven. Bereid je voor op een avond vol muzikaal ambacht uit VanderLinde’s rijke repertoire, afgewisseld met de kleurrijke en meeslepende verhalen van frontman Arjan van der Linde. Zijn anekdotes zijn hilarisch en ontroerend en niemand vertelt ze sappiger dan Arjan. Een mooie kans om VanderLinde live te beleven en deel te worden van hun muzikale reis. Wees erbij en vier mee!
In 2025, VanderLinde will have been on stage for two decades. To celebrate this feat, the ’20 YEARS ON THE ROAD TOUR’ will see many more venues at home and abroad in 2024/2025. Leading up to this milestone, their ninth studio album “The Way I’m Wired” will be released.
Producer Erwin Musper ( David Bowie, Jeff Beck, Van Halen, Chicago, Elton John, Def Leppard, Anouk) has once again taken the helm in the recording studio. Place of choice was at the GAM studios in Waimes, Belgium.
The inspirational ingredients for VanderLinde’s musical melting pot stem from the Americana vibe of the Black Crowes, the melodic rock edges of Aerosmith, and the nostalgic balladry of James Taylor. All mixed into the unmistakable distinctive compositions of Arjan van der Linde.
In addition to his own fantastic live band, Arjan van der Linde has attracted a number of top musicians over the years to play on his albums. Among them : Venice, Walk The Moon, and The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra – all from the good old USA. Closer to home, the cream of the Dutch crop – Roel Spanjers (Frédérique Spigt/Normaal), Bart Schwertmann (Kayak), Fokke de Jong (Normaal/KOTW), Léon Klaasse (Powerplay/The Pilgrims) and Govert van der Kolm (KOTW. And for good measure, another USA legend : Pedal steel giant Dana Keller (Marvin Gaye/Stevie Wonder). The new album also features the incredible multi instrumentalist Bertolf.
In recent years, VanderLinde has mainly performed outside of The Netherlands. The band toured with Fish (Marillion), Doc Holliday, Bobby Kimball (TOTO), among others. In 2019, Vanderlinde performed at the Kunst!Rasen festival in Bonn, where Fish, Jethro Tull and Riverside also shared the stage. In the Netherlands, VanderLinde supported Di-Rect, Van Dik Hout and Winger.
German radio stations such as NDR2 and WDR3 embraced the band years ago. Reviewers routinely give the albums released in the past high marks and, as the icing on the cake, the band even received a stellar review in Germany’s largest magazine ‘Der Spiegel’.
