All are welcome to our in-person Program & Meeting. This February, we are excited to have Nikkie West speaking about Habitat Gardening in the Era of Climate Change! She is the Co-Founder and Owner of Sparrowhawk Native Plants and has been deeply involved in urban and sub-urban conservation for over two decades.
After growing up a barefoot childhood in rural northern Michigan, she spent her 20’s wandering the globe. Then, in her early career, she helped establish the North Clackamas Watershed Council, conducted natural gardening education and outreach for Metro Region Government and managed the Backyard Habitat Certification Program for Bird Alliance of Oregon. In addition to being a small business owner, she’s mom to a very rambunctious 8yr old, an avid habitat gardener and a strong believer that we’re living in a unique moment in history; where it’s both an incredible privilege and responsibility to be part of nature’s last stand.
