Vampire Run (For Those Who Shun The Sun)

The Fourth annual "Vampire Run" 🧛🏻‍♀️🧛🏻 night run is baaaack! (in blaaack) , March 21/23
This is a great opportunity to come out and celebrate the Spring Equinox and experience the magic and beauty of the Tri-Cities trails by moonlight with like-minded (crazy?) individuals!
The event will start at Sunset Saturday and finish at Sunrise on Sunday.
The route will be approximately 15K which you can do as many (or as few) times as you like within the 12 hours. This will allow you to return to your vehicles after each loop to refuel, rehydrate (or rest) and recharge your headlamps. The route should be easy to follow and will be mostly an out-and-back, which will ensure that you see fellow friendly faces frequently during the night.
(I believe our VR Course record is 70 K, from 2023, shared by Renee Caesar and Johnny Lee. Let's see if we can top it this year!)
There is also a track option for those who might like to go totally loopy! The track is located right next to the start/finish parking lot.
It can also be used in combination with the trail.
(Scott Sebelsky holds the VR track course record of 60K.)
New this year is the Bert Flinn Loop option!
This is a 2.5 K gravel, non-technical trail (and the first section of the 15k route) that you can repeat as many times as you like during the 12 hours.
But don't worry; if running late and long isn't your thing, then feel free to come out and join us for a loop in the early morning, or at any time during the 12 hours; just so long as you are finished in time for the coffee and croissants at 7:10!
If any of you are planning to run long Ultra races this year, then this will provide you with a perfect opportunity to practice your night running and test out your headlamps and gear.
The Vampire run also provides a wonderful chance for all you crazy-busy folk to enjoy a peaceful long run without having to worry about any other commitments such as work, errands, children's activities etc., because no one will have any scheduling conflicts in the middle of the night! Right?
As usual, there will be hot coffee and pastries provided at the finish after 6:30 AM for anyone who lasts until dawn!
See you there, (and please leave your garlic and silver stakes at home)!
