Vamos a Pescar is open to all ages and completely free—come celebrate the outdoors and spend the day learning and exploring with us!
Join us at the Prophet Aquatic Research & Outreach Center (PAROC) on Saturday, September 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Vamos a Pescar, a free, family-friendly event all about fishing, outdoor fun, and conservation!
Whether you’re new to fishing or a seasoned angler, this event offers something for everyone.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn fishing techniques, understand rules and regulations, explore water safety, learn archery and other hunting practices, enjoy nature crafts and hiking, and participate in many more hands-on educational activities.
A collaborative effort between the Emporia Public Schools- Migrant Education Program, What’s In Outdoors, Hispanics of Today & Tomorrow, Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks, and PAROC, this event also features giveaways, free resources, and fun prizes for participants.
To wrap up the day, a free fish fry lunch will be served at noon on the PAROC deck.
Acompáñenos en el Centro de Investigación y Extensión Acuática Prophet (PAROC) el sábado 20 de septiembre de 9:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m. para "Vamos a Pescar", un evento gratuito y familiar dedicado a la pesca, la diversión al aire libre y la conservación de nuestra naturaleza. No importa si es nuevo en la experiencia de la pesca, como si es un pescador experimentado, este evento ofrece algo para todos. Los visitantes tendrán la oportunidad de aprender técnicas de pesca, comprender las normas y regulaciones, explorar la seguridad en el agua, aprender tiro con arco y otras prácticas de caza, disfrutar de manualidades con la naturaleza y senderismo, y participar en muchas actividades más. Este es un esfuerzo en conjunto con el distrito de Emporia Public Schools MEP Migrant Education, What 's In Outdoors, Hispanos de Hoy y Mañana, y Parques de Kansas (KDWP) y PAROC. Este evento también incluye regalos, recursos gratuitos y divertidos premios para los participantes. Para finalizar el día se servirá un almuerzo gratuito de pescado frito al mediodía en la terraza de PAROC.
