10 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday.Some time will be spent discussing gear and hydrology, and the afternoons will be spent taking turns learning strokes, and how to release oneself from the kayak in a warm saltwater pool.
This workshop series is designed for teens and young adults to explore whitewater kayaking through a supportive and inclusive environment. Over the course of one weekend, participants will gain foundational kayaking skills, learn essential water safety, and build confidence on the river. Led in partnership between Vámonos Outside and Bend Kayak School, the program emphasizes cultural belonging, outdoor adventure, and community connection on Central Oregon's waterways.
We will meet at Vamonos Outside Headquarters (320 Bridgeford Blvd Suite 8 Bend, OR 97702) and Carpool to locations.
