About this Event
Valuing the Handmade is a workshop that brings people together to share stories, skills, and practices tied to handmade clothing and textile techniques. Through conversation and exchange, we’ll explore how handmaking can challenge today’s harmful fashion systems by centring emotional, environmental, and social value. Focusing on household stories and personal connections to making, we’ll imagine a city that supports alternative, slower fashion futures. We’re inviting participants with skills and experiences in practices like sewing and mending, to join us in Naarm/Melbourne and contribute to a collective exchange grounded in a love for the handmade.
