With all the snow melting, we can see the trash that has accumulated all winter. Near West Side Partners and community groups in the Washington Park area are coordinating volunteers on April 17 for a clean-up of all of the neighborhoods in the area, so we are coordinating with their efforts to have our very own neighborhood clean-up! If you want to attend their orientation and safety briefing (and grab supplies) first, meet them at Tiefenthaler Park at 10 AM morning of: https://www.facebook.com/events/930855791078426If you want to stay in the neighborhood, meet up at 11 AM along with volunteers from Tiefenthaler Park at the intersection of N. 39th St and St. Paul. We will divide into two groups, one to head up the hill to join Valerie Langston on 36th-38th St and one that will stay on 39th-42nd St. We will have TWO dumpsters! One on top of the hill and one on 39th & St Paul.
We will have some supplies but if you can bring your own (or attend the Tiefenthaler Park event first) we encourage you do so! Please wear a mask and socially distance when possible.
