Valentine’s Day Massacre!!!We are back with the Wildcard” Novice Tournament!!!Two 10 minute periods running clock until last 2 minutes of second period( if within 2 goals). Which are standard all in one day tournament rules.
12 man teams and a goalie(will permit a back up goalie but absolutely can not play out if you win the back up goalies hoodie would not be included).Do not have to play prelims to play playoffs as per 1 day rules.
Normal Novice rules / restrictions in place new instigator novice restricted list will be used for this event/usa players u 16/18/23/35 —- will allow one over 45 usa
Can not have played in an A/B tournament in last 5 years. Tier 1 2024Tier 1 2025Nbhl not allowed either)" Our new list is fairly new if a tier 1 or A/Bplayer was blatantly missed and is called out during captains review and proved we will have to adjust .A few players were added to transition list.
Sooo what’s the “wildcard” . In the past I have heard guys want to enter these tournaments but are “ too good “ or restricted. Every team will be allowed one. U want a restricted , tier 1 or A guy go for it. Just one. The captains will clearly have to identify this player. These rosters will be due 2 weeks before the event. I will release them to the captains. After I police them to the best of my ability the captains can look at the other teams. If a player is in question it will be dealt with. Same rules for everyone period! Player can not be on the A restricted list(A/B restricted list is different and permitted).
Each team is also allowed to have 1 player from the “ transition list”.
This will be an enjoyable fun event.

All in one day tourny rules:
2 ten minute periods.
No icing until last 2 minutes of second period if within 2 goals.
Prelims no time out.
Playoffs one time out.
Can raise stick to call for a pass. If contact made w ball on a high stick it’s a penalty.
Penalties
Minor - 1.5minute
Major - 3 minutes
Playoff elimination rounds goes straight to shoot out. 3 shooters per team. Then one by one. Every shooter must shoot before a shooter can shoot twice.
Championship has ot. 5 on 5 for ten minutes. No score 4 on 4 for 5 minutes. No score 3 on 3 until a score.
No handshake lines until playoffs.
All are standard all in one day tourny rules to keep team costs down and to finish at a reasonable time.
Lastly no fighting. If a punch is thrown the player(s) that threw the punch are out for the day no if ands or buts. This is a Choice Arena rule that I can not override.
If any player leaves the bench during an altercation they are out of the tournament. If your team leaves the bench or 7 or more guys your team is eliminated for the day and future suspensions will come. Let’s not do any of this (:
