About this Event
Lets get together and learn about the birds and the bees! For this Valentine's Hike we will be exploring the courtship habits, mating rituals, and other funny, gross, and interesting tidbits of the animals of the wetlands! This tour is not recommended for children under the age of 18.
Thank you for joining us on a Night Hike at Sweetwater Wetlands Park! We are hoping for pleasant weather and an enjoyable walk! Please read this entire email carefully.
Timeline for evening:
-You will pay for the event at the park by credit card when you arrive for the tour. We cannot accept cash at this time. The cost is $5.00 per person.
-6:20 pm: Gate will open. Arrive at park and register. PLEASE do not come early. The park is going to be closing at ~6:10pm and staff will be working to get visitors out of the park.
-6:40pm: Walk begins - If you arrive after 6:40pm, you will be unable to attend the walk. Please call Ranger Amanda @ (352) 665-7642 if you have any delays the night of the walk.
-8:30pm: Walk concludes (time is approximate). Please exit after the walk as park staff will still have to pack up and close the park.
What to bring:
-Flashlight
-Bug spray
-Water bottle
-Appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather (The walk will be about 1.5 miles)
If you are UNABLE to come, please let us know ASAP. There are people on a waiting list to take any free spots. Failure to show up for the walk without notifying park staff at least 24 hours prior to the walk can jeopardize your chances of going on future walks.
The walk is subject to cancellation if the weather is bad. All information and updates will come through email.
