Welcome to the Valentine's Dance at Parkinson's Resources of Oregon! Get ready to dance the afternoon away with your friends or loved ones in a fun and festive atmosphere. Join us for an hour of music, laughter, and connection as we celebrate Valentine's Day together. You do not need a partner to attend, there will be solo and partner options. Don't miss this opportunity, we can't wait to see you there!
Taught by:
Diedre Jolley Smith, Director of Dance for PD® Oregon. Diedre trained at the School of Ballet West, Interlochen Arts Academy, the Jose Limon Foundation in New York, and received her BFA from The Boston Conservatory. She has extensive experience in performance, choreography, Laban Movement Analysis, and historic dance reconstruction. Diedre trained in Dance for Parkinson's at The Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn, NY and is passionate about sharing joy through dance.
Brynna Hurwitz, MAT, RYT, Certified Yoga and Yoga for Seniors Instructor, Exercise for PD and Fall Prevention Specialist. She has her Brain Longevity Therapist Certification.Currently Brynna teaches Yoga for PD, Guided Meditation and Dance Therapy for Brain and Body. Brynna is a ballroom dancer who has performed throughout the PNW.
She loves sharing her passion for movement and healing.
Live Music Provided by: Aaron Nigel Smith, Grammy® Nominated musician and Billboard #1 recording artist who has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, Winnipeg Folk Fest, Lollapalooza, and Pickathon, and performed throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Aaron has worked extensively with his wife, Diedre, to share the benefits of music and movement with all ages.
