About this Event
Valentines and Valves is a BRAND NEW special-format, hands-on adult workshop hosted by Fort Worth Water. For ticketed guests only, this new class blends practical home efficiency skills with creative, take-home projects in a relaxed, social setting.
Unlike other Water Saving Seminars, this class requires a ticket for in-person attendance. Space is limited to 50 participants. Tickets are required to enter the room.
This event takes place on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Botanic Research Institute of Texas, 1700 University Drive in Fort Worth.
The evening features three expert-led sessions. A licensed plumber from ASTAR Plumbing walks through how toilet float valves work, how to spot hidden leaks using dye tabs, and how small fixes protect long-term efficiency. David Cole, Coordinator II of Horticulture at Tarrant County College Northwest Campus, leads a hands-on irrigation session covering sprinkler bodies, spray heads, risers, and real-world irrigation best practices for both residential and commercial customers. Heather Bass, Master Gardner and Conservation Supervisor at Tarrant Regional Water District closes the night with a pollinator-focused session on bee houses, explaining why they matter and guiding attendees through building their own.
Ticketed attendees are encouraged to bring their own food, drinks, snacks....or Valentin'es Day chocolates?
Between sessions, guests enjoy short activity breaks with Valentine-themes and full of hands-on garden crafts and decor, native wildflower seeding, and time to connect with neighbors.
The class streams live for free on Fort Worth Waterβs Facebook page. Online viewers must use a Facebook account to watch live. The recording posts to Fort Worth Waterβs YouTube page within one week of the event.
This ticketed workshop offers deeper instruction, real tools, and take-home projects in one engaging evening. Unlike other Water Saving Seminars, this class requires a ticket for in-person attendance. Space is limited to 50 participants. Tickets are required to enter the room.
