Mid to late winter is an inspiring time to enjoy some intro ski touring in the powder snow! Whilst the high mountains are often out of bounds it's a great opportunity to enjoy touring around the tree line and this usually offers both fun skiing and great training options.This is a dynamic weekend designed to give you a fun and informative insight into the magical world of ski touring from an overnight base camp in a mountain refuge. It packs the essential elements of our 5 day course into 2 action packed days, featuring satisfying ascents on skins, remote off piste skiing, technical training and generally enjoying the atmosphere of the mountains.
This February courses heads to the scenic south side of the Mont Blanc range and tours in the lovely Italian Val Feret with the comfortable Rifugio Bonatti as Base Camp.
With a maximum group size of 6 folk we usually have a highly enjoyable, instructive and sociable couple of days touring using the ski lifts to access interesting backcountry terrain.
