When: Sunday, June 14th Time: 12pm weigh-in and warmup 1pm Start. (estimated finish time 3.15pm.) Junior divisions (under 16s) compete first. Medals are awarded to junior players. The senior divisions commence immediately after the medal ceremony for junior divisions.
Where: Melbourne Budo Academy/Zenyo Judo 96A Hoddle St Abbottsford. (Weekend parking along Hoddle St and Gipps St).

All players who hold a 2026 registration with the VAJU are warmly invited and strongly encouraged to attend and participate. If you have not updated and paid your registration for 2024 you can do so before the tournament. If you train with a club not affiliated with the AKJA but would like to participate please contact either Jakub or Damon from the VAJU asap (we always strive to promote grassroots Judo so get in touch).
Please alert Judo coaches to your intention to compete as early as possible before the tournament.
Please alert VAJU of your intention to participate in a trial Kata practice of Nage-no-kata (the first three sets).
Mark this competition in your calendar if you have not done so already. Please invite friends and family to watch and support the competitors, and the VAJU.

To spectate (over 16 yrs): $10
Children under 16 free.
The VAJU ruleset is the same as the AKJA ruleset which emphasises participation for juniors and the safe and effective development of Kodokan Judo.
