About this Event
Take a look at all the teachings being offered by our world-renowned guest, Venerable Zawa Tulku Rinpoche, during our Open House weekend and join us for one, or several! We'd love to see you! There is a suggested donation of $25-$50/person with proceeds going toward Zawa Rinpoche's continued work, but please do not let this deter you from coming if that may cause undue hardship. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure enough time for parking, walking, and settling into the session. Satsang House is a private residence in a very quiet neighborhood. Parking is extremely limited. Please plan on carpooling with a friend. We look forward to welcoming you to our home. Please do not block the main driveway to our home.
NOTE: You may want to bring a sweater or blanket as it gets a little chilly in the evenings!
Vajradaka is a deity of purification in the Buddhist traditions. In this fire puja, we burn black sesame seeds symbolizing our past negative actions. It’s a potent experience to watch our negative karma go up in smoke! Dorje Khadro is a deity who purifies our negative karma by consuming it in the form of black sesame seeds.
What is a Puja?
A puja in Buddhist tradition is a ceremony that includes reflection, chanting and offerings that deepen appreciation of The Buddha and his teachings. It moves through seven stages which include gratitude, confession and reverence. Sometimes there are readings slotted into the puja to add color and inspiration to an already rich tapestry of practice.
