Vaikunta Ekadasi falls during Dhanur maasam. On this day, the gate to the inner sanctum of Sri Mahavishnu is left open so all devotees can walk through and pray. In return, it is believed that Lord Mahavishnu grants them Moksha by liberating them from the cycle of birth and death.
