About this Event
When The Vagina Monologues premiered in 1996, it sparked a vital cultural shift, breaking silence around gender-based violence and creating space for conversations about sexuality, identity, and power. But like many feminist movements of its time, the original production centered predominantly white, cisgender, able-bodied experiences, often excluding voices from the margins.
We believe feminism must be expansive, intersectional, and ever-evolving. That’s why Arcana and Skyy Eyes Affairs are reimaginingThe Vagina Monologues for our community today by combining works from the original production with pieces by modern authors, and topping it off with monologues submitted by members of our very own Durham community! Join us as we celebrate the diverse experience that is feminism in all it's scintillatingly vast excellence.
