Visual Arts Guild of Frisco is hosting a monthly membership meeting at the Gallery 8680 (8680 E. Main St. Frisco, TX) Monday October 21, 2024.
* Doors open at 6:30pm, meeting starts at 7pm.
* Our VAGF Member-Artists are encouraged to bring a small-to-medium piece of art for Artist of the Month voting.
The meeting is free for members, while guests are encouraged to make a $10 donation at the door.

Welcome our guest speaker with watercolor demo:
Murthy Mantha
Topic: Design and Compose Watercolor Landscapes
Overview: Planning for white shapes/spaces is a key to success of watercolor painting. Murthy will demo an approach on arranging key shapes using paper cut outs that he has specially designed for this presentation. **Attendees are encouraged to participate in this hands-on creative exercise. Murthy will also bring some samples of his work and a watercolor set to demo.
Murthy, a resident of Flower Mound, TX, is currently the Secretary of the Visual Arts League of Lewisville and a member of many local art societies including Irving Art Association, Visual Arts Guild of Frisco, McKinney Plein Air Society and Southwest Watercolor Society. He was a past president of the IBM Club Art Club, Poughkeepsie, NY and experienced in curating exhibitions and teaching workshops. He learned intricacies of art through self-study of various master artists in India and USA. Some of his artistic inspirations came from Tiepolo, Rembrandt, Cezanne, Frank Webb, and Paul Klee. He conducts workshops in composition and design using watercolors, and loves painting en plein-air.
