The Angyalföldi Vadrózsa Ensemble is one of the most renowned folk-dance ensembles in Hungary and they are making a special stop at Hungarian House for a community workshop and dance house while they tour the United States. During the revolution of 1956, approximately 200,000 Hungarians fled to Western countries, including more than 30,000 to the United States. As Vadrózsa planned its US tour, the group prioritized visiting and performing in those communities inhabited by a significant number of Hungarians, including in many cases descendants of those who fled their homeland in 1956. The ensemble has an ethos based on community building and educating the next generation.
