What is a PetHub ID tag?

What is a microchip?
A microchip is a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, that is implanted just beneath the skin, typically between the shoulder blades of your pet. Each microchip contains a unique identification number that can be read by a microchip scanner. This number is linked to a database that holds the owner's contact information, making it easier to identify and return lost pets.
