V E Day 80 - Come and join in The Big Village Party at The Haven to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe DaySunday 4th May 2025 from midday.
A family day of fun and a chance to mark this historic event and to step back in time and enjoy a flavour of the 1940’s.
After years of war, in May 1945, imagine the relief and excitement when Victory in Europe was declared and the people of Britain celebrated in high spirits - come along to this exciting event and experience a taste of history.
Take a step back into the 1940’s with live performances of songs from the era and enjoy watching dancers Jiving.
Soak up the atmosphere with the traditional children’s games and rides at the Vintage Fun Fair, visit the Old-Fashioned sweetie shop and buy a child’s weekly ration of sweets.
Stock up with brilliant cakes and other bakes from the Afternoon WI stall and perhaps try a slice of War Time Cake!
Wander round a Vintage Vehicle display and come into the newly refurbished Lounge Bar for great refreshments.
Live entertainment will continue through the evening with a vocal journey through time with songs from the decades following the war up to modern times.
