About this Event

📍Venue: Recital Hall East

Aegio International Piano Competition is an international piano competition initiated by a group of outstanding young pianists worldwide. The event is organized by the non-profit organization, The KV Music Foundation. Each edition of the Aegio International Piano Competition attracts over 600 participants from more than 20 countries. The competition has received recognition from the globally renowned music competition foundation, Alink-Argerich Foundation, and has been specially invited to become a member. The foundation, co-founded by piano competition critic Gustav Alink and world-renowned pianist Martha Argerich, is an influential organization overseeing international piano competitions worldwide. Currently, 50 major international piano competitions in various countries have received certification from the Alink-Argerich Foundation. Esteemed competitions such as the International Chopin Piano Competition, Leeds International Piano Competition, Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, Sydney International Piano Competition, Queen Elisabeth Competition, and Concorso Pianistico Internazionale Ferruccio Busoni are all members of the Alink-Argerich Foundation.

In 2025, it marks the fifth year of the preliminary rounds of the Aegio International Piano Competition held in New Zealand and Australia. Previous global final were held in Canada and Italy, and this year we are thrilled to inaugurate the global final in Sydney, providing more opportunities for local young musicians to showcase their talents and communicate with other young musicians internationally. The winners will be offered performance opportunity in Vienna, under the support of Asilence + Co Music Media as a partner organisation for this event.
