The University of Virginia Department of Music is proud to present the Baroque Orchestra on Friday, November 22nd, 2024 at 8:00 pm in Old Cabell Hall!The Baroque Orchestra, directed by faculty violinist David Sariti, presents dynamic, vital performances of music from the 17th and 18th centuries with the instruments and performance practices for which it was written, without a conductor. Period instruments at Baroque pitch from the University’s extensive collection are used, and students receive personal instruction on their specific techniques. Concertgoers can expect to hear music by familiar and unfamiliar composers alike, presented in a way that questions modern perceptions of music performance.

Tickets are $10 / $9 UVA Faculty & Staff / $5 students / Free for UVA Students who reserve in advance. Ticket prices will be released closer to the event date. Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA’s historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda. Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, in the C1 parking lot off McCormick Rd, and in the parking lots at the UVA Corner. Handicap parking is available in the small parking lot adjacent to Bryan Hall.
