The 2024-25national UUA Common Read book selection is Authentic Selves: Celebrating Trans and Nonbinary People and Their Families (Skinner House, 2023). This powerful book is a compilation of life experience stories of trans and nonbinary people, as well as their partners, parents, children, siblings, and chosen family members. This year’s UU Common Read discussion materials also invite participants to tell their own stories and form a deeper understanding of how their gender and sexual identities have shaped their own lives and perceptions.
This discussion is co-facilitated by Rev. Julie Lepp and Dean Yohnk, Ph.D., are tired UW professor with extensive training and experience in leading discussions and classes related to LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer/Questioning, Intersexed, Allies, and others) and related DEI topics.
