The Utoro Art Festival 2025 is an art event themed around migration, habitation, and hope. It reflects the experiences of people who built a new life and formed a community in Utoro, Kyoto Prefecture.
From October 10, 2025, for one month, contemporary art exhibitions will be held at the Utoro Peace Memorial Museum, Goethe-Institut Villa Kamogawa, and Doshisha University. On October 10 and 11, performances including Madanggeuk (traditional Korean outdoor theater) will take place. Through the universal language of art, we hope to share the story of coexistence.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the Pacific War. As people living in the present, we hope to reflect on the pain of the past and offer a vision of hope for the future.
