Students commencing your study in 2025 are strongly encouraged to participate]Come and walk amongst the treetops with us at the Tahune Adventure Park. A scenic 90-minute drive south from Hobart, one of southern Tasmania’s must-see attractions.
This stunning treetop walkway gives you a bird’s-eye view of the forest as you walk 20m above the forest floor. You can walk high above the forest canopy and share the lives of the forest giants from up-close, looking down to the place where the wild waters of the Huon and Picton Rivers mingle.
What to expect?
To reach the start of the AirWalk you’ll gradually ascend 104 steps, with places to sit and rest.
Basic fitness is required to complete the 619 metre-length of the AirWalk. The full return journey takes about 50 minutes – more if you stop for photographs, spot birdlife, or pause to enjoy the clean, fresh scents of the forest.
*Accessibility: We also offer disabled access – please enquire at the Tahune Adventures ticket office. No bushwalking experience required. Flat even surface with no steps or steep sections. Suitable for wheelchair users who have someone to assist them.
Itinerary:
8.45: Depart TUSA building
9.00: Arrive/Leave University Accommodation on Brisbane Street (Unihopper pickup)
11.00: Airwalk tour starts
12.00: Tour finish
12.15: Lunch
12.45: Huon Pine Walk (15 min return)
13.15: Bus back to Hobart
14.45 - 15.00: Arrive at Hobart city/ Sandy Bay

Ticket is $20 per person, an exclusive deal only for Orientation. This has been heavily subsidised by UTAS Orientation program in partnership with the Tasmanian University Student Association.
