Utah Women's Investing Club Luncheon

The Utah Women's Investing Club is a mastermind group of independent women who are driving their own investments. At our quarterly luncheons, we cover the ins and outs of all types of investment including real estate, stocks, retirement accounts, and other investment modalities such as cryptocurrency and precious metals. We invite everyone to attend regardless of investing experience or expertise.

Jennie Wingad and Monique Higginson will share strategies in this luncheon to ensure fair division and protect your interests in divorce.

Jennie is a licensed attorney in the states of Utah and Florida. Ms. Wingad began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County where she defended adult and juvenile clients accused of misdemeanor crimes, felony crimes and probation violations.

During her final years at the Public Defender’s Office, Ms. Wingad was selected to supervise the early representation unit. At the time, Ms. Wingad was the youngest attorney to ever hold a supervisory position within the felony division of her office. Her responsibilities included training and supervising approximately 15 attorneys who handled an average of 1,600 cases monthly. She successfully streamlined and updated processes that led to increased effectiveness and better client service.

She received her J.D. from Suffolk University (Boston, MA) where she received Dean’s List honors, an award for Best Oral Argument and acceptance into Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. She received her B.A. from Rhodes College (Memphis, TN) in Business Administration. Alongside her soccer teammates, she was inducted into the Rhodes Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.

Monique Higginson is a successful business owner and real estate broker. She has been selling real estate in Utah since 2002, navigating both the best and worst markets in recent history. She understands the stresses of buying and selling homes, having personally owned 27 homes. Monique has extensive experience in real estate sales, buyer representation, property management, corporate relocations, and investment real estate. She also possesses a deep understanding of property valuations, having worked as a real estate valuation analyst, valuing thousands of residential properties nationally during the Great Recession. Specializing in selling older homes, Monique has thorough construction knowledge, having co-founded a construction company in 2019, which gives her an edge over many competitors.

She started her real estate investing journey in 2001 when she bought her first home in Sugar House. 23 years later she has owned 27 homes and now has enough experience to recognize a good buy. She has the confidence to take risks and purchase properties when she recognizes their current or future potential. After getting divorced in 2020, she started the Utah Women’s Investing Club in 2022 to inspire and share professional information with underserved and divorced women, in an effort to help them drive their own financial futures and find success.
