Bell County Genealogical Society (Texas) will have a guest speaker talking about researching the DAWES rolls, so if you are looking for Native American Ancestry research for that time-period, please come. April 27th, Bell County Annex A, 2PM The Dawes Commission accepted applications for the Dawes Rolls from 1898–1907, with a few additional people accepted in 1912–1914. The Dawes Rolls are lists of individuals who were accepted as eligible for tribal membership in the Five Civilized Tribes: Cherokees, Creeks, Choctaws, Chickasaws, and Seminoles. The Dawes Rolls are also known as the Final Rolls and contain more than 101,000 names
